Geordie stand-up Kai Humphries is launching a new comedy night in his hometown tonight.

Humphries is working with his brother, Gavin, to expand his hugely popular Punch-Drunk Comedy nights into Blyth, with a brand new gig debuting at the Newsham Side-Club.

Humphries, who is writing new sitcom M.U.F.F with Daniel Sloss and Tom Stade, told Giggle Beats: “I am delighted to be bringing a comedy night of this magnitude at such a bargain price to the leafy little town I was born and raised.

“Blyth means a lot to me and it feels nice to give something back to the community that has shown me so much support.”

Tonight’s show, featuring Andrew Maxwell, Daniel Sloss and Mat Reed, is already sold out, but tickets – priced £7 – are on sale now for future shows.

Upcoming listings are:

16 Feb: Daliso Chaponda, Dan Nightingale, Andy Fury
16 March: Jason Cook, Danny McLoughlin, Jellybean Martinez
20 April: Andrew Stanley, Mark Nelson, Philberto
18 May: Phil Nichol, Gavin Webster, David Hadingham
