Joke Thieves world tour hits the road
Joke Thieves, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival favourite, returns to the stage this month for its debut tour.
Following a sold-out run at the Fringe, Will Mars’ chaotic comedy brainchild is taking to the road, bringing its unique form of improvised comedy to venues across the nation, as well as the far side of the globe.
The cult hit show, which debuted at Edinburgh Fringe 2013, sees regulars Stephen Carlin, Danny Ward, Jessica Fostekew, Joe Rowntree, Will Franken and Danny Pensive perform their own jokes and then each other’s, competing for the biggest laughs in a performance which promises to offer the audience something new every time.
In the past the show has featured guests such as Dana Alexander, Jo Caulfield, Luisa Omielan, Carl Donnelly, Paul F Taylor, Daniel Sloss, Marcus Brigstocke, Zoe Lyons, Mick Ferry, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Abandoman and Des Clarke.
Joke Thieves was named Critic’s Choice by Time Out as well as being included in their list of ’10 Late Nights Out at the Fringe’ and in Chortle’s list of top ten format shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The show also provided the format for a BBC Two television pilot, fronted by Hal Cruttenden, which was recorded at the Fringe last year.
