Sarah Millican returns home for DVD signing
Sarah Millican is returning to the North East for a special DVD signing this month.
Millican, the UK’s biggest selling female comedian, is about to release her third stand-up DVD and will be signing copies of Home Bird Live for fans at HMV in Newcastle on Tuesday 18 November at 5pm.
Filmed in front of her home crowd at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre, the DVD features all new material from her sell out national tour, which saw her play over 140 shows to a combined audience of over 200,000.
In Home Bird Live, Millican talks about settling down (taking her bra off) and putting down roots. She now has cats (furry babies) and even a tree (she has a lot of mugs). You’ll learn what to take on a dirty weekend, the correct number of meals to have in a day and how to teach a pensioner to swear.
Since winning the 2008 if.Comedy Best Newcomer Award for her debut solo show Sarah Millican’s Not Nice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the South Shields stand-up has firmly established herself as a household name.
She has appeared at The Royal Variety Performance, released two live DVDs –the first of which was the biggest selling stand-up DVD by a female comedian of all time – and completed three sell-out national tours. She has received eight nominations for the British Comedy Awards, who crowned her Queen of Comedy in 2011.
Three series of Sarah’s own TV series, The Sarah Millican Television Programme, have aired on BBC Two, earning her BAFTA nominations for Best Entertainment Performance in 2013 & 2014.
She is currently busy preparing for her fourth national tour.
