Sham Bodie turns 1
Manchester comedy/chat show Sham Bodie celebrates its first birthday this month – and you’re all invited to the dead good party. There’ll be a magician, a clown, pass the parcel and, of course, loadsa cake.
Here’s the line-up:
Liam Bolton
One of the most exciting talents currently on the Liverpool circuit, Bolton is a surreal mix of prop and mad verbal skills. Non-chalant buffoonery with delightful sketches. He’s also co-creator of Danger Precident, which is one of the greatest internet sitcoms based in a future dystopic Manchester. Click to watch episode one.
Kirk McElchinney
The Bert Jansch inspired McElhinney is a Jazz Folk Troubadour from Manchester. His recent album, World Gone Blind, was described in The Express as ‘exciting and engaging’. A supremely talented singer songwriter, organisers say they’re delighted to have him for their birthday show. He’s even promised to help with a bit of pass the parcel.
Andrew James
The magical Andrew James stood in last minute for Magic Sam back in April. See him here, recently mugging off David Blaine, for which he got a retweet from the man himself. He’s a true wizard.
Dan Lees
The aformentioned clown – though not one in the traditional and frankly terrifying sense you’re probably imagining. But a new age clown. One that can enter a room with nothing and leave having created an amazing comedy event. Dan Lees is precisely that man.
