Ideal star Jo Neary is to make a rare appearance in Manchester this weekend.

The Perrier-nominated character comic, best known for her starring role as Judith in Johnny Vegas’ BBC Three sitcom, has been lined up to appear at The Frog and Bucket in the city’s Northern Quarter on Sunday 23 February.

The show, organised by female comedy promoters Laughing Cows, sees Neary join resident MC Kerry Leigh, Lesley Kershaw, Amy Vreeke and Annette Fagon.

Hazel O’Keefe, of Laughing Cows, said: “Everyone will love Jo Neary.

“She is a pleasure to work with and a comic I have been wanting to book for Laughing Cows for several years.”

A former Perrier Best Newcomer nominee, Neary took her first solo show, Joanna Neary is Not Feeling Herself, to Edinburgh in 2004.

In 2005 she returned to the Scottish capital with Joanna Neary is Pans Person and then toured the show.

The Brighton-born stand-up has numerous TV credits to her name, including a starring role in BBC Three sitcom Ideal as Judith, the love interest to Johnny Vegas’s character, Moz.

She has also worked on Mitchell and Webb, Adam Buxton’s BBC show Me-Box, and Brave Young Men, playing the timorous barbershop singer, Violet.

Advance tickets for the show are on sale now, priced £7.

The show starts at 7pm.

Tickets for Jo Neary @ Laughing Cows are available by calling The Frog and Bucket box office on 0161 236 9805.
