Series two of Hebburn will begin on Tuesday 12 November at 10pm, creator Jason Cook has confirmed.

Cook, who also stars in the BBC2 sitcom, announced the news on Twitter, telling fans to expect a cameo appearance from a comedy legend.

He wrote: “It’s official! Hebburn series 2 starts on Tuesday nov 12th at 10pm. It’s looking great and we start with a great cameo from a propa legend.”

Speaking in August, Cook said he was delighted with how series two was coming along.

He said: “Hearing the script out loud for the first time is a big test of the jokes and it’s when you find out what works and what needs a little more TLC.”

Series two of Hebburn sees the introduction of two new characters, while one of the current cast members is to change jobs.

There will also be a number of cameo appearances from North East actors, including Melanie Hill.

Cook added: “We’ve got some new cast members too and they’re fitting in perfectly. They were very carefully chosen and I think we made the right choice with them.”

“I can’t wait for people to see them.”

Series two was shot on location in Hebburn and in studios at MediaCityUK in Salford.

The six-part series also includes a Christmas special.
