Hebburn nominated in National Television Awards
Hebburn has been nominated in the Best Comedy category in the National Television Awards.
The National Television Awards are voted for by the public visiting the official website; over five million votes were cast for last year’s awards.
The BBC sitcom, created and written by Jason Cook about his home town, was broadcast last autumn, with production on a second series and a Christmas special well underway.
The series launched to critical acclaim, winning a regional Royal Television Society award in March.
Cook joined actors including Chris Ramsey and Neil Grainger on social media in urging fans to vote for the show.
Ten shows have been nominated in the ‘comedy’ category, including Not Going Out, Miranda, Mrs Brown’s Boys, and Ricky Gervais’ Derek.
This longlist will be whittled down before the ceremony at The 02 Arena in London on 22 January 2014.
