Latitude Festival has announced its comedy line-up for 2013, featuring the likes of Dylan Moran, Daniel Kitson and Tim Key.

Perhaps best known for co-writing and starring in Black Books, Moran marks his return to the UK stand-up scene with a headline slot at the Suffolk festival.

Moran is also playing this year’s Rockness, suggesting he may be perfecting material for a new national tour of the UK in 2014.

Elsewhere, Daniel Kitson will bring six performances over four different shows.

In the Theatre Arena he will present two performances of his current tour show After the Beginning, Before the End.

The same venue will also play host to the first previews of a brand new theatrical work.

Meanwhile, the Poetry Arena will see Kitson joining forces with musician Gavin Osborn for a one off performance of Lucinda Ding and the Monstrous Thing, a forty five minute adventure poem ballad thing from the long-time collaborators.

Finally, the Film & Music Arena will host the first ever public screening of It’s Always Right Now, Until It’s Later, a concert film of the show by the same name recorded last summer in Manchester and followed here by a Q&A session with Kitson and the film maker, Ewan Jones Morris.

Another stand-up heading to Latitude this summer is US stand-up Jamie Kilstein, whose blistering energy wowed Giggle Beats in Newcastle last month.

And Edinburgh Fringe staple The Horne Section are back in the cabaret tent, performing their eclectic mix of jazz and jokes.

Other acts playing include Marcus Brigstocke, Mark Watson, Daniel Simonsen, Seann Walsh, Lee Nelson, Charlie Baker, Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Tom Deacon, Reggie Watts, Ed Gamble and Kerry Godliman, who recently took a leading role in Ricky Gervais’ Derek.

Melvin Benn, founder and creator of Latitude, said: “As it enters the eighth edition, Latitude is now firmly established as the most artistically ambitious event in the UK summer calendar, with a line-up that goes from strength to strength each year.

“Music is just part of the experience, and our eleven arts arenas will play host to a selection of comedians, theatre companies, poets, writers and other performers that really do make Latitude much more than a music festival.”

The music headliners are Bloc Party, Kraftwerk and Foals.

Latitude 2013 takes place 18-21 July at Henham Park, Suffolk.

Tickets went on sale today, priced at £182.50.

    Hi Andrew,

Great Comedy bill at Latitude indeed!

Just a wee note on the amazing Dylan Moran:
Dylan’s return to Standup? I don’t think he’s ever stopped really. Besides performing during the Edinburgh Fringe he was a bit busy playing outside the UK in 2012, amongst others in Estonia & Russia:

    Shameless plug:
