Laughter Live listings
Following an impressive start to 2011 with fine performances from Roger Monkhouse, Wes Zahurak and Nick Helm, Sunderland Empire’s comedy night, Laughter Live, have announced their headline acts for the coming months.
A recent star of BBC One`s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Mick Ferry headlines on Tuesday 12 April. A prolific writer, Mick has written for John Bishop’s Britain and has also previously written for BBC3`s Smalltime. He made his debut at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival in 2009 performing The Comedy Final at the Gilded Balloon, and Mick returned in 2010 with a brand new show The Missing Chippendale (Body Issues).
Closing May’s show will be Gary Delaney. Gary is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, who is widely regarded as being the most quotable comic on the circuit. Gary has recently appeared on Comedy Central’s Comedy Blue and Radio 4’s Loose Ends, and he has written for Russell Howard’s Good News, Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks, and Radio 4’s The News Quiz.
And South Shields comedian Chris Ramsey is set to headline on Tuesday 14 June after recently supporting Al Murray on a 40-date tour. Chris made his Edinburgh debut in 2009, appearing as part of the Comedy Zone at the Pleasance – the Fringe’s longest-running and most prestigious stand-up showcase. Since then Chris has gone from strength to strength and has supported Lee Mack, Russell Howard, Russell Kane, Jenny Eclair and Stephen K. Amos. He is also due to appear on ITV’s Comedy Rocks, hosted by Jason Manford in the next few weeks.
Tickets for the next instalment of Laughter Live cost just £7.50 and can be booked at the box office in person or by calling 0191 566 1045.
